If you are in the University area, Akropolis Cafe at Highway 49 and Harris Boulevard is under new management and the cooks are wonderful.  Previously owned by Mojtabah above, this new family-owned Akropolis Cafe offers a few Persian pantry items as well, including morabah (jams) - cherry, quince, and others, as well as Persian teas.  The jujeh kabob and zereshk polo (lemon saffron chicken and rice with saffron and barberries) is just like nana makes!  My wife complained that after we ate this meal together for the first time, I gave it 4 compliments in a row, and I don't ever give her any, after 26 years of marriage!

For a different experience, visit the Kabob House at 6432 E. Independence Boulevard, owned by Nader Behrouzjou, which includes the total Persian experience of decor and delicious Persian specialties including the most well-known traditional dishes and tea room.  The hookah lounge and belly dancers are Arabic influences on Persian culture, and can also be experienced here.  Lunch fares are around $6.00 and includes salad.  Noosheh Jon!
